Professional Background & Personal Information
Alexis graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Policy from Michigan State University in 2002 and obtained her Juris Doctor from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in December of 2006. Alexis is admitted to all courts in the State of California and the United States District Courts for the Southern, Northern, Central, and Eastern Districts of California.
Alexis is currently the head of the Elder Law Department with California Estate and Elder Law, LLP. She focuses on clients with estate planning and long term care needs. Specifically, Alexis focuses her practice on asset protection, asset conversion, Medi-Cal eligibility, and Veterans Administration eligibility. Alexis often works with family members of persons with Dementia, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and other unfortunate circumstances.
With almost ten years of experience as an attorney, Alexis spent many of those years as a civil litigator and trial attorney in both state and federal courts before moving into elder law. Alexis previously represented people injured by the misconduct of others. From small car accidents to multi-million dollar judgments, Alexis gained a wealth of experience in a variety of civil matters. Alexis advocated for individuals and businesses in one of the largest cases in the history of San Diego and California known as the “Wildfire Cases”. Her efforts contributed to the successful resolution of over $21 million dollars in settlements. In 2008, Alexis was awarded the Distinguished Achievement Award from the Tom Homann Law Association.
